Beta Readers Wanted
You want to read books for free, because, hey, this year hasn’t been great for many people financially. I need help catching things that my alpha readers and I haven’t caught.
I’m currently looking for beta readers for these categories of queer/lesbian/WLW/bi fiction:
- space opera (foul language, violence, explicit sex)
- romance (a little coarse language, no violence, fade-to-black sex, drama, mentions of child abuse in the past)
Any interested readers should fill out Beta Readers Wanted or contact me directly.

The Dark Road [Free Short Fiction]
I signed up late last year to be a part of another flash fiction contest: Said Bree’s Flash Fiction Challenge 2018, and this is the first of my attempts at following the prompts.
It’s based on the story that started with ParaDice Point. You don’t need to have read that story to follow this one; this is more involved in the books I’m writing to be published later this year.
Without any further lead-up, here’s today’s story.

The Future is Calling
It has taken me over a week into this year to finally come up with a list of everything I accomplished last year and decide on what I want 2018 to mean to me.

Head of the Dragon [Free Short Fiction]
You asked for it, I promised it, and you waited a heck of a long time. Sorry about that. Here’s Part 7 of ParaDice Point, a free short fiction story I’ve been working on for a while. If you haven’t read the previous parts, check them out first so you have context.

Buried (Twisted Cedars, Book 1) Review
I guess I’m kind of a sucker for a good mystery. Throw in some high stakes, engaging characters, and a good setting, and I’ll happily sit with a book in my hands for as long as it takes to finish it.
But if you’re going to leave me hanging, you need to tell me, because it’s the fastest way to get me to throw your book across the room and let out a string of obscenities.
So it’s no surprise that I have mixed feelings about this book, because it did both.

Try it! You just might like it. [Reblog]
Every once in a while, I read a post that I like so much that I have to share it with you all. This is one of those posts. It comes from Erin Saluta at Women & Words and talks about broadening our horizons as readers.

Looking Up with Stephen Hawking #WATWB
Today’s good news might not at first seem like it qualifies. It’s not a cure for what ails us. It’s not a cute, viral meme. It’s not even about someone doing kind works.
But it’s still a sign that there is more to us than what at first meets the eye, and I think that’s worth celebrating.

5 Terrible Reasons to Be a Writer
People all around the world dream and talk about being a writer every day. Some people do a little writing as a hobby, while others jump ship in their day job and take up writing full time.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of why we write, but there might be more to it than the simple answers we sometimes give.

Strengthening My Brand with a Pseudonym
Back when I originally decided to pursue writing on the side, I was young and naive. I had big plans for myself. And one of those plans was to write under a pseudonym to keep my writing and “real” life separate.
How was I to know that, six years later, I would only just be considering using the name for real?

Waltzing on the Danube [Book Review]
A lot of time in romance, there are certain types of characters you see over and over. Usually you have one character that’s a little rude or insensitive, probably because she or he has been hurt before, and the other is more grounded, loving, and wants a relationship.
That’s not to say all romances follow these rules, but we’ve all read a multitude of stories with this cast, so when I read a story in which this is turned on its head, I sit up and take notice.
