September is here. The weather is slowly cooling, the kids are all back in school, and we’re left with a feeling that something is shifted.
That’s right, it’s upon us. The second fresh start in the year!
A New Lease on the Second Half
I realized what I had been feeling for weeks — a burgeoning sense that things are not as they should be, that changes should be made — today when I was listening to author Gretchen Rubin’s Happier podcast. She was talking about how September is the new January: a time for evaluation, changes, and starting anew.
I think this blog could use a fresh start, so things are going to be changing.
I already have some posts scheduled, so they will post as they are for now, but things are going to be different around here after they have all been run.
- I won’t be posting multiple times per week anymore. Multiple posts have gotten harder and harder to keep up with as time goes by and I try to rearrange my priorities to be more productive and happier. Nothing is set in stone right now, but I’m working under the assumption that I will be posting once or twice a month from now on.
- I’m going to focus. In the past, I’ve been a little scattered in how I approached posting. I posted what I wanted to post when I wanted to post it. I wrote book reviews for books that might not have been tuned into my audience. And I gave way too much away on my blog that I should have been reserving for my VIP Readers. From now on, I’m going to try to focus on writing on-topic reviews, giving you occasional updates, and writing posts that will be more in tune with you guys.
- I’m going to clarify. I’m moving all my darker stuff – like my horror writing – to the pseudonym Coda X. Napeland. I’ll blog more about that later, but the key point to know is that from now on, Adan Ramie is going to be all about lesbian fiction, romance, suspense, and light science fiction. Horror will no longer be an offering here.
- I’m adjusting my VIP Readers mailing. I’m consolidating my mailing list segments into one that encapsulates everything I write (except horror; see above). I will also be changing the frequency of how often I send emails.
