Somebody Doesn’t Like Sarah Leigh [Book Review]

Two best friends since childhood suddenly can’t stand the sight of each other.

That’s the premise for this story of kidnapping, theft, and friendship tested.

Somebody Doesnt Like Sarah Leigh

Book Description

When a long-time friendship dies, whose fault is it?

Decades past junior high, Caroline Batzer finds herself snubbed by her best friend. At first confused, she is later stunned to learn that Sarah Leigh has betrayed her in a way she would never have suspected. In an all-too-public setting, Caroline airs her anger at the woman everyone else in town considers saintly.

When Sarah disappears soon afterward, it looks like Caroline murdered her. Desperately she tries to figure out who else could have done it—Sarah’s philandering husband? Her useless son?

Caroline’s nightmare is just beginning, because the people responsible for what happened to Sarah are now after Caroline, and they don’t care how rough things get.

My Rating

wow

Where do I begin?

I did not expect this book to be very good. The cover was fine, and the title gave me a little giggle. I really thought I would open it up, read a few pages, then delete it and mark it DNF (did not finish).

I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself drawn into the story immediately. I liked the protagonist, but didn’t love her. And the story had a lot of little threads that, once woven together, make quite a tapestry.

All in all, it’s a book I really enjoyed, and I finished it very quickly.

I give this book four out of five stars and recommend it to anyone who likes mystery.
